The minister said that despite the challenges that agriculture is going through, this year there is a good production of corn and wheat.

During the meeting, Minister Krifca informed the farmers that she has asked the EU to revise the IPARDIII program, to make it possible to include support for agricultural mechanics as well as storage capacities for wheat and corn producers.

From Dropulli, Minister Krifca reiterated the positive progress of oil distribution. There is added another 500 million lekë of oil to the fund for the farmers and it covers all production crops in the country.

“The progress of corn production looks positive, just as we recorded positive results with wheat production. In addition to the support of 30,000 lekë per ha for new wheat plantings and the addition of 500 million lekë for oil for farmers, we will propose changes to the European Commission so that agricultural machinery and collection infrastructure for corn and wheat are included in IPARD investments, as other crops benefit today”, she said.

Krifca emphasized that I have requested the revision of the program for the equipment with agricultural mechanics for corn and wheat producers.

“You are one of the pioneers of wheat corn production in Albania, among the best, and I came here together with my colleagues from the area of ​​Shkodra and Lushnja to see closely how this process is going to learn from the best experiences in agriculture and to add best practices. We had a good period with wheat production. I am glad that the price, the effort of the farmers is justified. I have asked staff to immediately review the rationale and codify the program change so that corn and wheat producers can apply to receive farm machinery support. We offer agricultural mechanics and we have had an extraordinary demand, but we have also offered 70 tractors”, she said. /j.p/p.s./
