TIRANA, Sept  13  /ATA/ President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, in the margins of the Brdo-Brijuni Process leaders’ meeting, met with his counterpart, the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic.

President Begaj praised the excellent cooperation and strategic partnership between the two countries, underlining that this healthy and friendly relationship, which marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, is also in the best interest of the region.

In particular, President Begaj expressed his gratitude for the Croatian support and donations for coping with the November 2019 earthquake, as well as for the vaccination of the population during the COVID-19 pandemic.

President of the Republic also appreciated the Croatian hospitality for Albanians, as well as the spaces and support given to the old Albanian community of Arbanas and the new one to preserve traditions, culture and native language, but also to  integrate in the social and political life of Croatia.

The two interlocutors also discussed the latest developments in the Western Balkans region, the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, as well as the EU enlargement process with the countries of the Western Balkans region.
