The new contracts will run until July 2026, with the stated aim of securing Albania’s first-ever qualification for the World Cup finals.

Under Sylvinho’s management, Albania have made notable progress in organisation, playing style and results, the federation said, including qualifying for the World Cup 2026 playoff stage for the first time.

Albania are due to face Poland in the playoff semi-final on March 26, with the winner advancing to a decisive final against either Ukraine or Sweden.

AFF said the decision reflects its confidence in the current coaching staff and its commitment to continuity and long-term stability as it seeks to strengthen the national team’s international competitiveness.
