“Albania will open a General Consulate in Detroit to bring the state closer to its citizens through better consular services, greater engagement and support, as well as stronger economic and trade ties with local and state actors and authorities, in service of our national interests,” emphasized Hoxha.

Minister Hoxha stated, “We are committed and will do everything in our capacity to ensure our public service is present wherever needed, as functional and efficient as possible for Albanians everywhere. Wherever Albanians are, Albania is there too. That is where the Albanian state should be: by their side, in their service, and working with them to preserve, teach, develop, and pass down the Albanian language, safeguard our identity, proudly display our red and black colors, and pass on pride in our roots from generation to generation.”

“Distance doesn’t weaken our ties to home: no matter where they live, Albanians share one history, one language, and one heart,” Hoxha said.
