TIRANA, March 30 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Wednesday that, there has been an average wage increase of ALL 9000 in private companies’ payrolls since the last call of the government for reporting them in full.

During a meeting with importers, exporters and representatives of the supply chain of groceries, Rama stressed that, “before coming here, we took a look at the pay statement to see the review of payroll by businesses following the call to bring more payrolls to light. We know very well that salaries in Albania, in the private sector are reported in part. You know it better than I do. And only in response to this call, we have seen an average salary increase of ALL 9000, 90 dollars.”

“Which means that USD 90 increase was beyond discussion, but we are sure they are way higher,” said Rama.

“And we will persevere with our demand. The unit we have set up has started the investigation and I take this opportunity to call on everyone to declare the salary in full in the next pay statement, because we will not be lax about cases of salary under-reporting. If you are found in breach of law by the tax office investigation, then you will be referred to the prosecution. “And we do not want the companies to go to the prosecutor’s office, we want our companies to contribute to the economy,” said Rama.
Rama said that, “how come we can talk about low pensions, when retirement pensions are hit by social security contribution evasion.”
