“I am enthusiastic about that fact that the Municipality of Tirana has been a local partner for the College of Europe and rector Mogherini has been preoccupied about the completion on schedule, which I believe will be possible. We’ve built a college up to EU standards in record time. Of course, this is the temporary headquarters of the college, before it is transferred to the ultramodern building , which is the priority of the Prime Minister and the entire government. “I think we’ll be operating here for the first two or three years,” he said.

The mayor said that he feels proud and looks forward to seeing the three Albanian students of the College of Europe, who have received scholarships from the Municipality of Tirana, become future diplomats and elevate the name of Albania.

“I am glad that the Municipality of Tirana has contributed through three scholarships for three Albanian students, whom we hold dear, because we know it will be an investment. We have invested in three talents, who will be future diplomats and will lead Albania to this extraordinary ambition, raising the flag, as we raised it in Paris, but t in another community, that of the European Union.

Veliaj called on the citizens of Tirana to offer the same hospitality as tourists to the students of the College of Europe, from 21 different countries, who will come to Albania.

The College of Europe campus in Tirana will offer an academic program of European standards for students and professionals from Albania, the Western Balkans region, the EU and beyond.
