The Electoral College reviewed on Monday the requests of DP-AC, LSI and the independent candidate in the region of Gjirokastra, Kreshnik Merxhani, seeking invalidity of April 25 elections in this region.

Following the decision of the CSC upholding the result of the April 25 elections in the region of Gjirokastra, the DP-AC SMI, and the independent candidate appealed this decision to the Electoral College.

The representative of the Democratic Party, Ivi Kasoi, asked the Electoral College to consider the evidence, which was not taken into account by the CSC.

While the representative of the Socialist Party on the Electoral College, Eridjan Salianji, described the evidence provided by DP as distorted. He said that evidence obtained through political statements should not be presented to the College as they are in breach of the law and the Electoral Code.

The Electoral College, like the CSC, refused to receive additional evidence for Gjirokastra. /j.p/
