TIRANA, November 4/ATA/- The Military Meteorological Service reported that on Saturday our country will be affected by unstable atmospheric conditions due to wet currents of air masses of western origin.

There will be dense clouds, heavy rain and at times thundery showers.

In the northeastern area, there is expected light snowfall.

The wind will blow in the southeast-southwest direction at an average speed of 2-12m/s, while in the southern coast and the valleys the wind will blow at a speed of 16m/s. Waves in the seas are expected to be high, force 3-4 degrees.

Albania braces for more cold weather, Peleshi: Agency of Civil Protection is on alert

TIRANA, January 20 /ATA/ The Ministry of Defense extended an appeal to all citizens, especially those living in remote areas, to follow the advice of emergency headquarters in their municipalities so that to avoid any serious dangerous situation because of cold weather.

Minister of Defense Niko Peleshi said that, “The National Agency of Civil Protection is on alert and in constant contact with all the local units.”

Meteorologists report that in the coming days temperatures in Albania may drop to -18 degrees Celsius in areas such as Bulqiza or Puka, while the thermometer in Tirana is expected to drop to -8 degrees Celsius, close to zero in coastal areas such as Durres, while in Vlora temperatures are expected up to -1 degrees Celsius. TIRANA, January 13 /ATA/ While the temperature in Puka recorded -11 ° C this evening, Mayor Gjon Gjonaj has knocked on the doors of some elderly people who live alone.

Gjonaj was interested in the heating conditions and the food base and he promised beginning from tomorrow the supply with firewood and food items, where necessary.

The mayor got acquainted with the conditions of the hut where the couple Ademi lives and promised to build a new house for the two elderly people.

Mayor Gjonaj said that it was an obligation to assist these families in these conditions.
