TIRANA, Aug 27 /ATA/ – Albania plans to include computer coding in curricula for primary school pupils across the country, the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, said during a visit to “Qazim Turdiu” school in Tirana.

Education Minister presented the innovative labs model, saying over 35 000 primary school pupils will be included in the new computer coding curriculum.

Focusing on importance of helping schoolchildren develop digital learning and innovation skills, Education Minister announced that installation of 216 smart labs in 200 schools across the country has completed and the new labs will become operational at the beginning of the new school year in September.

“More than 35 000 schoolchildren – first to third grade – will be included in the new coding curriculum this year. In the meantime, we are reviewing the digital education curriculum for pupils – first to ninth grade – as well as the curriculum for the high school students. It is important for us to provide schoolchildren with the opportunity to develop digital skills and we are working on completing our information technology curriculum to integrate it with other subjects,” Manastirliu said.

TIRANA, June 16 /ATA/- The children and young people from all over Albania successfully closed the school year and the most favorite program for them, such as coding.

Minister of State for Youth and Children stated in a post on social media that the children of the first grades fulfilled the Coding Program in schools, where about 7000 children from 100 schools have learned to code like real professionals with great enthusiasm and desire.

At the same time, Muzhaqi said, about 10,000 students up to grade 12 successfully completed the Out of School Hours program, where young artists have developed their talents in painting, music, choir, theater, crafts, technology, self-defense sports and permaculture.

She added that 10,000 students a few days ago completed the 2022 edition of Sports Teams for which we watched spectacular matches in the National Volleyball and Basketball Championships.

“Very happy that children and young people have embraced every program that has helped them develop their talents and understand from a young age the passion and potential they possess and to pursue in the future, and that above all it has changed their lifestyle, but also that of their parents”, emphasized the minister.

She thanked all teachers, coaches, parents and grandparents for their continuous support and motivation for children and young people to become part of these programs.

Also, Muzhaqi thanked all colleagues of the administration and government, donors AADF and UNICEF, for their unsparing contribution to implement these wonderful programs, for which they have started work on their planning for the school year 2023-2024./p.s./

TIRANA, February 23/ATA/ 1784 young people have applied so far to attend the Coding Program for young people, launched in January of the current year.

Prime Minister Edi Rama wrote in a post on social networks and mentioned the example of student Sindi Hamataj, who has chosen Holberton School to deepen her knowledge in programming, with financial support from the Albanian government for the courses of the Coding Program.

Rama said that young people’s applications continue to become part of the technological revolution.

“So far, 1784 young people have applied. Each of them has entered the e-Albania platform in the service “Application for the professional training course with financial support”, said Rama.

In the published video, Sindi Hamataj, a student in the Master’s in Computer Engineering, said that, “On the e-Albania portal I got acquainted with the study program, where the government offered 50-100% reimbursement of the cost of the course and I decided to study at Holberton School to deepen her knowledge in programming”.

The coding program, in addition to the subsidy, will also provide a connection with the labor market, to simplify the interaction between the profiling of young people and the labor market, as well as to enable employment offers for young people with wages comparable to the international market, immediately after the end of the course.

The subsidy from the government goes up to 50% of the cost, while for some more vulnerable categories it goes up to 100%./k.s/ /gj.m/p.s./

TIRANA, February 1/ATA/ Young people passionate about information technology have been applying for 8 days for an opportunity to attend the coding program, a new initiative of the Albanian government.

Prime Minister Edi Rama wrote in a post on social networks that about 1,000 applicants have applied, so far.

Rama invited all those who wish to be trained for well-paid jobs, in the domestic or foreign market working from home, to apply for this program.

Minister of State for Youth and Children Bora Muzhaqi, in the video published by PM Rama, emphasized that, “The coding program, which was opened 8 days ago, has so far recorded 939 applications”.

To join this program, applications continue in e-Albania, where young people can apply for the professional training course with financial support.

“The coding program is the newest initiative of the Albanian government that offers financial support to anyone who wants to develop skills in the field of information technology”, said Muzhaqi.

Muzhaqi said that, “Thanks to this program you can become part of professional courses in the field of technology and information for part-time or full-time for periods of 3-12 months where after the end of the course you can be integrated in the field of technology”.

The coding program, in addition to the subsidy, will also provide a connection with the labor market, to simplify the interaction between the professional young people and the labor market, as well as to enable employment offers for young people with wages comparable to the international market, immediately after the end of the course.

The subsidy from the government goes up to 50% of the cost, while for some more vulnerable categories it goes up to 100%./k.s/j.p/p.s./
