The Democratic Party MP emphasized that Albania needs to work on reforms to deliver on the recommendations of the OSCE/ODIHR for the upcoming elections, such as crackdown on corruption, commitment to implementing reforms, and enforcement of the Constitutional Court rulings.

“First and foremost, there is a significant lack of genuine commitment to implementing reforms, which are crucial to delivering on the recommendations of the OSCE/ODIHR for the upcoming elections, recommendations that the Albanian government has postponed for implementation until 2026, after the 2025 elections. For us, it made no sense to delay the electoral reform. Secondly, enforcement of the Constitutional Court decisions. We have two standards for implementing EU rules and the Stabilization and Association Agreement, which pertain to unfair competition, the awarding of contracts, and the fight against corruption,” declared Tabaku.
The MP went on saying that the document sent to Brussels was not consulted with civil society beforehand.
