“Even though back then our party had all the seats on the city council as a single political force, due to the boycott of the elections by other parties, we witnessed unacceptable events of taking the council hostage, lack of dialogue, obstacles to contribution and support of programs and council decisions and so on. The absence of any opposition force in the council, as in any other organization, makes room for self-complacency among immature individuals, but we cannot be part of something like this and unfortunately we got caught up in it,” Rama said.

The Prime Minister said that such an ugly phenomenon should not repeat itself in the new city council of Vlora and any other city council.
“This requires a positive atmosphere of debate, transparency, interaction and cooperation with the mayors. I am very glad that the city council of Vlora has been completely renewed and from the past experience there are also people who have been an example in the past for their contribution and maturity, but who unfortunately could not prevent those ugly moments from unfolding because they were a few,” he said.

“It is needed a complete reformation of SP in Vlora, which must become a comprehensive force, completely transformed and motivated to accept and support all the dignified and open-minded people that Vlora has, who vote for us but do not find themselves in SP of Vlora because no one opens the door for them,” he added.

Rama said that Vlora should not belong to a handful of people who use the SP flag like a bunch of nettles, making it difficult for others to cross the doorstep.
The Prime Minister asked the members of the city council to engage with the community in order to make the SP community bigger.
