TIRANA, June 3 /ATA/ Yesterday, the Pyramid’s steps buzzed with energy as they were transformed into “JAA BizTown” — a lively, fully operational mini-city run by its youngest and most dedicated participants.

This Junior Achievement Albania project introduces new innovations each year in children’s financial education.

The event was also attended by the Minister of State for Youth and Children, Bora Muzhaqi, who noted: “This year, we launched a new program in five schools, culminating in an extraordinary day at the Pyramid. Fifth-grade students created an improvised city — complete with banks, job centers, tech and construction firms, media offices, and even held elections to shape the future of their city.”

Muzhaqi emphasized, “Financial education is best learned through hands-on experience, and these children have shown they are more than ready to face the challenges of tomorrow. We must not fear innovation; rather, we should embrace it and turn it into an advantage for our children, helping to raise them as prepared, independent, and entrepreneurial individuals.”

The children took on various roles as citizens and workers, passionately managing the Bank, Post Office, Urban Planning Office, Travel Agency, Employment Agency, Construction Company, Insurance Company, Real Estate Agency, Media Company, and Telecommunications Company.

In addition to their roles in the imaginary city, the children had the opportunity to visit two real businesses that complemented the experience: “Switch Technologies” and “Pigi App,” bringing them even closer to the real world of technology and entrepreneurship.

The children learned how a city functions through cooperation, money management, decision-making, and communication.

This activity provided an educational and enjoyable experience that brought many smiles and a strong sense of accomplishment to the young participants.
