Elbasan Local Police Directorate told ATA that, “In the early hours of the morning, there has been ice in Dragostunjë, while the Traffic Police is on duty to manage the situation and come to the aid of vehicles that are blocked”.

Police authorities appealed to drivers to be equipped with chains, while movement continues to be slow on both sides of the road.

According to the police, the contracting companies are salting the road to avoid frost and vehicle skidding.

Currently, there is frost at Miftari’s Fountain, while there is noticed an increased traffic of vehicles moving towards the southeast of the country. /k.s/j.p/r.e/p.s./

According to ARA, snowfall has stopped, but temperatures continue to be low and contractors have cleaned the axes overnight and distributed salt.

All drivers should be equipped with winter tires or chains, reduce speed, and obey traffic signs and instructions of the Traffic Police.

According to ARA, in the northern region, the movement of vehicles is partially done with chains: Trebisht-Customs, Cerenec Bridge-Klenjë, Trebisht-Customs, Peshkopi-Qafë Drajë, Qafë Bualli-Krastë.

“In the central region: Qafë Thanë-Doganë at Useku, the traffic goes on with one lane while the contractor company is working for complete cleaning of the road. Movement with chains or winter tires is recommended for: Lunik-Steblevë, in the last km Steblevë-Klenjë, Zemblak-Gorica.

While in the southern region, the roads are open without any snow, but conditioned by low temperatures vehicles must be equipped with winter tires.
