During the ceremony held on the occasion, Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi described this as a new milestone in the history of Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defense.

“This centre marks a milestone in the history of modernization of the AF, a transition to a new phase of Albania’s development. It embodies the vision of Prime Minister Rama to bring Albania up to speed with technological developments,” said Minister Peleshi.

According to Minister Peleshi, “a country like Albania needs to pick up momentum with the help of new technologies, harnessing the intellectual power of the Albanian nation. So today we are proud to join this movement of innovation and we promise that very soon we will launch the first innovative products that will inspire, I believe, the young Albanians who have joined us in the Armed Forces, but also other young people to understand that the future can be built here.”

Minister of Defense added that this center is part of the network of NATO centers of excellence, given that Albania is a member country.

“NATO’s centers of excellence, as members of the Alliance, are our centers of excellence. We are part of a network, we interact, we increase our training capacities, we stay in touch with the recent developments of Artificial Intelligence, new technologies, which help us increase our security and defense capacities, build more defense capabilities with less resources,” Minister Peleshi said.
According to Minister Peleshi, the Albanian model of Artificial Intelligence is trained in this center, using two technologies; the two satellites Albania 1 and Albania 2 and the fleet of Bayraktar drones, whose images are analyzed according to the interests of the sectors.
