Sado said that one of the priorities is the drafting of the new Statistical Programme for 2027–2031, which will set out INSTAT’s activities for the next five years.

According to Sado, the programme is expected to be submitted to Parliament for approval in November.
Another key issue concerns the implementation of the legal framework for the Agricultural Census, which has been approved and provides for the drafting of two secondary legislation acts.

“Under the approved law on the Agricultural Census, work is under way on two key secondary legislation acts: a Council of Ministers decision on the establishment of commissions at local level, and a Council of Ministers decision on providing additional payments to personnel who will take part in this statistical activity,” Sado said.

Sado also addressed the fulfilment of obligations related to European integration, particularly under Chapter 18, which covers statistics.

The Director General of INSTAT stressed that the institution had taken the necessary measures to meet the closing benchmarks, including the approval of the relevant regulations through decisions of the Council of Ministers, as well as guidelines issued by the Director General, with the aim of aligning institutional rules and standards with European ones.
