“In this last meeting on the eve of election day, I would like to share some information such as whom candidate x number belongs to or other procedures in the polling station. The names of the candidates and the respective numbers of each of them will be placed close to the secrecy booth. On the other hand, every voter can consult this information on the CEC website, ” said Celibashi.

“Regarding the pilot project which will be conducted in the zone of electoral administration no. 40, Unit 10 in Tirana reconfirmed that this voting process is 100% guaranteed, the secrecy of the vote is 100% guaranteed. There is neither technical nor any other way to verify who voted for whom. The device and the electronic system are built in such a way that it does not mark queues. I want to point out that this process is probably many times more secure than the voting process through the ballot paper, ” said Celibashi.

Regarding electronic identification devices, they have already been distributed to all zonal election administration commissions in 5199 Voting Centers. Only 100 polling stations are not covered by operators, CEC staff is working, they are in remote areas, mainly in the northern areas of the country.

He said that the voting process will start at 7:00 am and there is no reason be it of technical or subjective nature to hesitate or start the voting process past 7:00 am, any conduct in breach of the Electoral Code will be subject to legal actions, but I am confident that we will not encounter any problems of this nature on election day.

Celibashi called on citizens to take part in the voting and not to keep mobile phones when voting.
“No one will be allowed to carry a mobile phone in the voting booth, if anyone shows up with a mobile phone it will be considered as an attempt to photograph the vote. The voters will not be checked, but a voter will not be allowed to enter the VC carrying a phone. The commission has no authority to check whether one has a mobile phone or not,” he said.
