At a media briefing from Vora, Celibashi said that “the decisions of the Vora CEAZ, which were taken after the decision of the ASC, are in accordance with the law.”

“Together with other representatives of the CEC, we came to the CEAZ of Vora to get information on the progress and problems that have been reported to the CEC by various electoral subjects. The members of CEAZ Vora, together with the secretary, deserve to be appreciated for the work they have done. The situation was tricky to be resolved in legal terms, yet they succeeded. All that matters is that their actions have been correct regarding the procedural steps,” he said.

Celibashi said that “what is required is that the proposals for members of the polling station commissions be in accordance with the Electoral Code.”

“As far as we know and have verified, their activity so far is in accordance with the provisions of the law. As to legal grounds why the DP has filed a report, I do not know whether it is in accordance with the law or not,” he said.

Celibashi stressed that currently all polling stations have a minimum of 4 members. “There are 25 polling stations where there are secretaries and members proposed by the DP. In other polling stations there is a quorum but the chairman who should have been appointed by DP is missing. Tabaku previously reconfirmed once again the concerns raised by the DP representatives in the CEC claiming that there are no VCC members proposed by them, or in some polling stations the chairmen and members belong to other political parties. The CEAZ confirmed to me that there is no such decision and there is no chairman of the polling stations from other parties that are exercising this duty in DP’s stead,” he said.

Asked about family voting, Celibashi stressed that “we have received reports from DP representatives about family voting.”

“Family voting is prohibited by law. It will be verified if it was due to age or other objective reasons and the voter has been assisted and in this case it is not family voting. If this happens, this is not a failure of the CEC, but it is an issue that should be addressed through information,” he said.
Meanwhile, Celibashi reminded political parties and the media of electoral silence period.
Celibashi also stressed that the electoral outcome of Vora will be published today, very soon after the closing of voting process in the polling stations./m.m/sm/
