TIRANA, Sept 14 /ATA/ – Albanian Parliament on Thursday discussed a bill on adoption of a resolution of the Governing Board the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) on the Bank’s capital increase.

Shpresa Marnoj, who presented the draft law, said that “the initiative aims to fulfill the country’s obligations vis-à-vis the international financial institutions, where Albania is a member, namely the Council of Europe Development Bank.”

She noted that Albania is a CEB member state and remains a beneficiary of CEB funds amounting to around 237 million euros by funding and co-funding various social and economic projects.

Albania adhered to the CEB framework document in June 1999 and as a member state Albania owns 13 385 shares worth 13 385 000 euros.

Every CEB member state should accept the conditions and the resolution deadlines that will be adopted by the CEB Governing Board.
