TIRANA, April 25 /ATA/ The Democratic Party MP, Ina Zhupa, reacted on Thursday over the dismissal of the DP’s request by the Constitutional Court for Butrint, emphasizing that “this court missed a historic chance, missed a chance to rise even to the level of its decisions, as is the decision-making for the National Theatre, where the violations that we found in Butrinti administration agreement, they had identified and voted as violations in other decision-makings.”
In a media statement, Zhupa said that “Butrinti is in grave peril due to some greedy people who give everything on concession and never get enough of embezzling the Albanians’ money, while now they are also stealing and alienating the heritage, history, and identity of the Albanians. “Butrint is in danger, but we will not sit back and wait regardless of the decision of the Constitutional Court.”

“The next avenue to exhaust is of course SPAK. The next step is of course full international information and of all institutions, 100% awareness of the public opinion that today stands by our side, but this support will have to be reflected in the vote to vote for a model against concessions in cultural heritage as the only one mechanism to rid Albania of this evil that captures the cells of the state at every moment”, said Zhupa.

The Constitutional Court, by a majority of votes, decided yesterday to dismiss the request of the Democratic Party for the repeal of the law “On the approval of the agreement for the administration of sub-areas of cultural heritage and cultural landscape, part of the National Park of Butrint, between the Ministry of Culture and the Butrint Management Foundation.”
