President Begaj signed the Book of Condolences opened at the Embassy of the United States of America in Tirana.

President of the Republic held in high esteem former president Carter as a leader who worked throughout his life for freedom, justice and peace among peoples and taught the world the significance of this cause and respect for these principles.

“In memory of James Earl Carter Jr., the 39th President of the United States of America, the leader who remained faithful to the democratic principles. He will be remembered in the history of international politics as a champion in the service of the people, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, who worked for decades for peaceful solutions, to advance democracy and human rights. “Humanity learned from him how to be peaceful and refuse war as a “necessary evil”, but to fight for a free and just society,” wrote President Begaj.
