TIRANA, Sept 9 /ATA/ About 20 thousand foreign citizens with residence permits in Albania will now be provided with electronic cards containing biometric data unlike the previous version, which was simply a document in A4 paper format.

The news was announced by Minister of Interior, Bledi Çuçi, who emphasizes that, “this innovation enables these citizens, as well as Albanian citizens to access government services in the ” e-Albania” portal.

Within 30 days they must present themselves at one of the offices of the company “Aleat” to apply for the electronic card. We have also streamlined the procedures for foreigners who want to live and work in Albania. Suffice for them to register only once in the Border and Immigration directorates and then everything is done electronically, ” said Çuçi.
