TIRANA, June 11 /ATA/ Thousands of believers are expected in Laç on June 12-13 for the St. Anthony pilgrimage. The State Police has increased personnel to manage traffic and ensure public safety, with medical crews and ambulances fully deployed on standby near the church.

Municipal workers, fire services, and civil emergency structures will be on the ground, according to the Mayor of Kurbin Majlinda Cara. Complementing these efforts, parish priest Dom Land Jaku announced that the Church of St. Anthony has finalized all arrangements to ensure a smooth pilgrimage.

For years, the Church of St. Anthony in Laç has drawn thousands of citizens from across Albania. Culminating on June 13, every Tuesday transforms this holy site—which transcends all religious boundaries—into a unifying epicenter of prayer and pilgrimage for people from every corner of the country.

TIRANA, March 31/ATA/ President of the Republic Bajram Begaj commemorated today in Kavaja “Martyr of the Nation” Indrit Cara, on the 26th anniversary of his fall in the Kosovo war.

Head of State placed a wreath of flowers on the statue of the “Soldier of Kavaja” erected in honor of his sublime deed for the nation.

In his speech during this event, President Begaj praised the determination and sacrifice of the 28-year-old from Kavaja, who left England and joined the young people in fight for the liberation of Kosovo, while emphasizing that Indrit Cara belongs to Kosovo, Albania and all Albanians.

“He was born in Kavaja, but today he belongs to Kosovo, he belongs to Albania, he belongs to Albanian patriotism. Indrit Cara sets an example and symbol of courage, a pure spirit of patriotism and a heart that beat strongly for the freedom of the Albanian nation. He is a name engraved in the history of our nation, a model of inspiration that shows the way to our youth: the spirit of sacrifice, the strength of unity and the significance of acting for the good of our nation”, said Begaj.

The president emphasized that commemoration of Indrit Cara serves for everyone as a reminder of the permanent commitment not to let the dream for which he gave his life fade away.

“His sacrifice serves as a compass for our future, for a united nation, for a strong Albanian patriotism, for a Kosovo that moves forward, free and proud”, he said.

The Head of State also remembered with respect the figures who led the strides for the liberation of Kosovo: Ibrahim Rugova, Adem Demaçi and Adem Jashari, and underlined the responsibility for cooperation not only of politics, but of every citizen to preserve and follow the legacy of their forerunners.

During his visit to Kavaja, President Begaj held a meeting with Mayor Fisnik Qosja, while he also visited the recently restored Ethnographic Museum of Kavaja. /a.f/p.s./
