In his remarks at an online meeting, the Director General of the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority (AFSA) Ervin Mete noted that event takes place at an appropriate moment as the legal framework is now complete, but also the required infrastructure to allow market capitals become fully operational.

“After approval of the two laws on Capital Markets and on Collective Investment Enterprises, the necessary legal framework has been built, which serves as a precondition for supporting the development of the capital market. The new laws diversify tools and investment opportunities in capital markets, and they enhance transparency requirements,” Mete said.

AFSA Director General also underlined that in addition to the legal infrastructure, the Authority is working with the Ministry of Finance and Economy to compile a strategic document on development of capital markets.

The Head of the Financial Supervisory Authority praised American Chamber of Commerce for launching such awareness-raising activities for businesses, while affirming the Authority’s commitment to taking steps to provide financial education and public awareness of capital markets and alternatives.
