Present at this round table were the general executive director of the AMF, Ervin Mete, the first deputy governor of the Bank of Albania, Luljeta Minxhozi, directors of commercial banks, investment funds, the Stock Exchange, as well as other actors of the capital markets.
In her speech, Minister Ibrahimaj said that this event is a very good opportunity for all actors to discuss the development of capital markets in our country.

The minister emphasized the fact that the government has been working over the years to draft the relevant legal basis, such as the law on capital markets, the law on collective investment institutions, or the law on private pension funds, which is set to go through Parliament soon. But according to the minister, the approval of the policy document, which is accompanied with a well-defined plan, will help to achieve the goal of developing the capital markets, underlining the importance that the Strategy is followed up by a communication and education plan for all Albanian businesses and investors.

The Minister expressed her confidence that, with the work done so far and the steps that will be taken in the future, the business climate in the country will improve and the economy will become more competitive, there will be an increase in financial inclusion and new jobs will be created.

“The benefits in terms of economic development, thanks to these steps, are very significant in all directions. Investing in the capital markets and this new form of investment will reduce the financing risk that is already held only by banks and will also introduce new actors to the bond and stock market, where most of them are brought by the Albanian government,” the minister said.
