In the southeast of Albania, in Maliq district, there is one of the most special natural wonders of this region: The Moglica Canyons. This unique place is a hidden treasure with natural and ecological wealth of Maliq area and is a favorite destination for nature lovers.

The Moglica Canyons were formed by the flow of the Moglica River, a small but powerful tributary that passes through mountains and limestone cliffs, thus creating rock formations, deep and difficult to cross.

Vithkuq is one of the most beautiful villages in the south-eastern region of Korça, home to a number of cultural heritage monuments, as well as to nature’s mesmerizing gems, including canyons.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared footage of the village, located around 1200 meters above the sea level and some 25 km from the city of Korça.

PM Rama underlined that the canyons are attracting a growing number of foreign visitors, who are exploring every corner of the amazing Albania during the extreme summer heat.

“Vithkuq, one of the most beautiful tourist villages in Korça, which, in addition to the cultural heritage sites, boasts the nature wonders like the canyons that are being visited by many foreign tourists in July, who are exploring every corner of the amazing Albania,” PM Rama wrote on the social media.
