Veliaj expressed his gratitude Canada for sheltering Albanian citizens, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the two countries.

“The fact is that many successful Albanians living in Canada are returning back home to invest, build, purchase properties and launch businesses here. They also serve as bridges of cooperation. Therefore, I think that what diplomacy does and what ordinary people do is very important,” Veliaj said.

Tirana Mayor said that Albania and Canada have special ties, especially regarding cooperation in providing relief for Albanian citizens living in Canada or vice versa.

The speaker of the parliament of Canada, Anthony Rota thanked the Mayor for the warm hospitality and said that cooperation is very important for both countries.
