After conclusion of the proceedings, Prime Minister Edi Rama, EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos and Danish Foreign Minister Marie Bjerre (the incoming EU Presidency) held a joint press conference.

EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos had a gift for the head of government. Kos showed a decorated Coca-Cola can that PM Rama gave her last December. Today, Commissioner Kos gave to the prime minister the celebratory cake on occasion of opening of all chapters.

“Once upon a time, it was the happiest gift even when it was given empty”, and what’s more, it has your sketches printed on it, so it’s your job. To celebrate this moment, we have turned your gift into a celebratory cake”, said Kos.

“And now we can eat cake. We need to celebrate even more. Six open clusters, all clusters open, is something to celebrate. Congratulations Albania!”, said Kos.

Then, the prime minister also presented Commissioner Kos and Danish Minister Bjerre with a bottle of traditional Albanian wine.

“Thank you Marta! When it comes to clusters, chapters and milestones and all these neurotic things, you can surprise us, but when it comes to gifts and sweets, you can’t. So let me add something that is missing there. Please bring it. And it’s not orchestrated”, said Rama. /gj.m/a.f/r.e/p.s./
