TIRANA, Dec 31 /ATA/ Loans to businesses maintained steady growth throughout 2025, with a marked improvement especially in the second half of the year, according to data published by the Bank of Albania.

According to Bank of Albania statistics, over the first 11 months of 2025, the banking sector disbursed approximately 250 billion lek in new business loans, marking an annual increase of 6.8% compared to the same period in 2024.

The data indicate that the increase in lending has been largely driven by the main sectors of the economy, with the majority of new loans going to the services and hotel-tourism sector, the manufacturing industry, and the food industry.

The Bank of Albania notes that the increase in business loan demand reflects heightened economic activity, a stronger climate of confidence, and better financing conditions in the banking sector.

The Central Bank assesses that the positive trend in business lending has made a significant contribution to supporting investments, expanding production capacities, and strengthening the key sectors of the economy.

The Bank of Albania emphasizes that it will continue to closely monitor developments in the credit market, aiming to maintain financial stability and support sustainable economic growth in the country. e.xh/j.p/sm/
