The Municipality of Tirana announces that the pace is close to the first quarter of this year, when the number of new businesses registered in Tirana was 2,061, which is much higher than previous quarters, when their number fluctuates around an average value of about 1,700 entities per quarter.

According to the municipality, over 1 thousand of new businesses are service units, while about 600 are retail units.

“354 of the new companies are secondary entities, dominated by retail units,” the municipality adds.
The trend of company closure is similar to that of previous years.

According to the statistics of the municipality of Tirana, during the second quarter of this year, a total of 589 enterprises were closed, while in the first quarter 482.
For purposes of comparison, the figures show that in the second quarter of 2019 610 businesses were closed in Tirana, while in 2020 the figure is 372.

The pandemic has continued to cause strong dynamics in the capital’s economy, especially in terms of opening new businesses, mainly due to the innovative ways that companies have to develop due to restrictions.
