TIRANA, Nov 8 /ATA/ Minister of State for Youth and Children, Bora Muzhaqi, as part of the reports to the commissions for the 2024 draft budget, reported before the Parliamentary Committee for Education and Mass Media on the 2024 budget for youth.

She stated that, “in the draft budget of 2024, 215 million and 954 thousand ALL are earmarked for youth support that will be implemented through the fourth call of the National Youth Agency for youth projects, which entails the upgrading of youth infrastructure such as youth centers, libraries or spaces for young people.”
Muzhaqi further added that there were two cycles of calls for project proposals based on the LOD methodology, a methodology used by the EU and the UN.

“As part of the second call for youth project proposals, 24 youth projects have been declared winners, directly benefiting 7,000 young people throughout the Albanian territory. In terms of youth infrastructure, libraries and youth facilities have been built in Durrës, Gjirokastër, Lushnjë, Dibra and Kamëz, which benefit over 106,882 young people,” said Muzhaqi.
During the reporting, Minister Muzhaqi emphasized that, in the third call for youth project proposals, 23 projects were declared winners, 3 of which are supported by donors, UNICEF, UNDP and UNFPA.

Specifically, Muzhaqi said that the 2024 draft budget reflects a 33% increase compared to the 2023 budget and a 34% increase compared to the 2022 budget, creating the opportunity to deliver on the commitments laid down in the National Youth Strategy for 2024 pertaining to the functional tasks of the National Youth Agency.
