TIRANA, Oct 22 /ATA/ Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, made an overview of the draft budget for 2022 and the following years, adding that, “today the government adopted two important draft laws designed to support all structural reforms that the government has already launched.”

“The Albanian economy during this year has grown at a higher rate than the region. In the first quarter it increased by 5.5% and in the second quarter by 18%. The growth we saw in the second quarter was distributed in all sectors, which means that the support of the government has targeted all sectors, ” said Ibrahimaj.
The Minister stressed that, “the draft budget that will be presented to parliament envisages an increase in government spending in all areas: healthcare, culture, agriculture, education infrastructure, which will translate into an economic growth of 4%. The draft budget has several keywords: Increasing investments in infrastructure, social protection, increasing productivity in various sectors of the economy, promoting legitimacy by strengthening anti-corruption structures and the umbrella will be digitalization in all sectors.

“It has been a rule for years now that pensioners receive bonuses. From next year there will be a separate budget item for the pensioners’ bonus. Meanwhile, the government will continue to index pensions, protecting all retirees from soaring prices. “The budget does not provide for an increase in taxes, except for a natural increase leveraging good fiscal administration”, she said.
