In his remarks at the event on Wednesday evening, British Ambassador Smith confirmed the very good relations between Albania and the United Kingdom.

Ambassador Alastair King-Smith highlighted the progress of the UK youth programmes in Albania and make connections across Shkodra, Kukës and Dibra regions. He said that Albania and UK continue to boost economic development across the north of Albania.

The British diplomat noted that many young Albanian people used to think that leaving the country was their only option, but such attitude has changed by strengthening bilateral partnership and by providing more opportunities to young people.

“Today’s gathering reflects UK’s commitment to Albania’s north. Moreover, it is a commitment of the people in this region that have special and unique ties with the British people. Great Britain has always seen Albania as a friendly country and a partner on the international stage,” Ambassador Smith said.
