On a comment about the today’s Summit, Bregu underlined that the common regional market is a key to better cooperation between the countries in the Western Balkans.

According to Bregu, the regional cooperation would be successful should it materializes concrete ideas and real efforts are made.

“Regional cooperation will be successful only if it materializes concrete ideas and efforts remain real. The titles of the documents would be of little importance then. The Common Regional Market is a key link for better cooperation between the countries in the Western Balkans,” Bregu said.

“We know that the region’s economies will be competitive and cooperative when necessary. We can only hope that differences would emerge only when inevitable,” Bregu noted.

“The Western Balkans Summit brought together Chancellor Angela Merkel, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and Western Balkan leaders to reaffirm their commitment to implementation of the common regional market in the Western Balkans,” Bregu said.
