Visited every year by hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over Italy, the Turin International Fair is the largest and most important literary event of the neighboring country.

The Albanian stand, organized and managed for the eighth year in a row by the Albanian Culture Center (www.centroalbanese.it) offers to the Italian-speaking public more than 200 titles by over 80 contemporary Albanian authors published by 31 different publishing houses .

Visitors show a great deal of interest in the literature of Albanian authors. Other than Kadare’s main works, which are being republished in Italian, the books of other contemporary authors such as Ylljet Alicka, Fatos Kongoli or Arben Dedja, which are also available in Italian, are highly valued and sought after by the visitors. The well-known Albanian authors Anilda Ibrahimi, Elvira Dones and Ornela Vorpsi continue to be in spotlight, year after year, having achieved success with works written in the language of the neighboring state.

Thanks to the valuable cooperation over the years with some Albanian publishing houses, in addition to books in Italian, Albanian-speaking readers who visit the fair can find at the stand a selection of titles in their native language.

This small but precious collection is especially appreciated by a growing number of young Albanians, born or raised in Italy, eager to know more, through literature, their country of origin.

The Albanian presence at the Fair is an important showcase to promote our country for a qualified audience, composed of prominent personalities of public life in Italy.

During the first days of this edition, in addition to a large number of intellectuals, scholars and journalists, the Albanian stand was visited by the Governor of the Piedmont Region Alberto Cirio, President of the Chamber of Trade and Industry of Turin, Dario Gallina and the candidate for Mayor of Turin, Stefano Lo Russo.
