He said that although he does not believe in market intervention, an emergency situation renders such a thing necessary.

Prime Minister Edi Rama said that a board will be set up to administer the price of the staples and put the brakes on price speculation, so whoever disregards the price set by it will have the stocks seized.

“I am concerned about the fact that the wholesale business blames it on the minority, the retail business blames it on the majority during the discussion on prices. To end finger pointing, we will enter too. We will set up a Board for prices of the essentials. This Joint Board will be made up of representatives from the government, wholesale and retail business and the prices of essential food will be set there, so those selling at prices that are different will not be tolerated . ”
