Vata/ The member of the Democratic Party National Council, Klodian Muço, stated that according to the data of the international stock exchange today, one oil barrel is sold at 88 dollars, while the price of diesel oil in Albania has not dropped at all, instead it continues to be a burden on the subsistence economy of Albanian citizens.
At a media statement, Muço said that “although the oil market today is 4 dollars less than before the war in Ukraine, the price in Albania has not dropped, it is 30 lek more than before the outbreak of war.”
According to him, this price is reflected in the basket of the Albanian consumer, who today spends more and consumes less.

“The board, which was supposed to protect the consumer, is protecting the wholesalers and retail businesses as well as itself, as it collects more VAT. But on the other hand, while the Ministry of Finance declares a 16.7% decrease in fuel imports for the second 3-month period, INSTAT declares an increase in consumption by 5.2%. These two statements in themselves highlight a difference of about 40 million liters of oil between what the Ministry declares and the figures of INSTAT,” he said.

“Prime Minister Rama stated that he is not cutting oil taxes, but he is buffering citizens’ earnings against the price of energy. Today he increased the price of energy 4.4 times more for above 800 kWh. So he should scrap taxes and reduce the price of oil since he put the burden of energy on consumers. It is clear that the government is not acting in the interest of citizens. It has never worked for their well-being, to sow terror, it has empowered the propaganda of deception to mislead the Albanians. But the truth is there, in the daily life of every Albanian citizen, and the government cannot cover it up with propaganda,” he said.
