Central bank said in a press statement on Tuesday that the daily liquidity injections through liquidity injection operations with a maturity of 1-13 weeks has further increased to 54.20 billion lek from 44.65 billion lek on average in the first half of 2023.

Central bank said that the money supply to the market has increased by around 4.07 billion lek, with the supply edging up by 5.56 billion lek in July alone.

The money supply to the market amounted to a total of 10.63 billion lek during the June-July period.

The increased liquidity of the banks operating in the country has been also driven by the currency purchase with a total value of 9.73 billion lek.

As part of its operations aimed at managing the liquidity of the banking system, the Bank of Albania has used its main instrument, the reverse repurchase agreement with a one-week maturity for an average of 35.56 billion lek or 65.60% against respectively 68% and 64% in the previous quarter.
