He further emphasized that the global economy, and by extension the Albanian economy, is facing a series of new uncertainties stemming from geopolitical tensions, structural shifts in labor markets, and the ongoing green and digital transition, while technological innovation and artificial intelligence are fundamentally reshaping market dynamics.

Providing an overview of the Albanian economy, the Governor emphasized that it continues to show positive performance, marked by sustained growth, controlled inflation, and robust banking balances, serving as a cornerstone of macroeconomic stability. This achievement reflects, in part, the policies implemented by the Bank of Albania, including an accommodative monetary stance, support for credit growth, prudent monetary interventions, rigorous banking supervision, and the preservation of monetary and financial stability. Nonetheless, the country still faces challenges arising from demographic shifts, the green and digital transition, as well as persistent pressures from the international environment, all of which necessitate careful and well-coordinated policy responses.

In closing, the Governor underscored the vital role of scientific and research forums in promoting international collaboration, facilitating the exchange of ideas, and strengthening the analytical basis for more effective policy decisions. He expressed confidence that the discussions and outcomes of this event will contribute to development of sustainable policies that foster long-term economic growth and ensure financial stability for both the country and the region.

The workshop is scheduled for November 6–7, 2025, and is hosted by the Bank of Albania at its headquarters in Tirana. Now established as a longstanding tradition, this event serves as a significant forum for the presentation and discussion of research in the areas of monetary policy, financial stability, and regional macroeconomic developments.
It brings together researchers, experts, and professionals from the central bank, universities, and international institutions to share knowledge and experiences on the current challenges facing the global and regional economy.
