TIRANA, Jan 17 /ATA/ Transformation of the donation center and blood bank, high-tech equipment, reconstruction of the building, but also restructuring of services, are part of the investment that is set to be completed within this year in the National Centre for Blood Transfusion.

During the inspection of the works, Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu stated that the intervention in the structure of the building will enable the establishment of a dignified and contemporary center up to the standards, which will be completed with laboratory and processing services and blood bank management, according to European standards.

“Within 6 months of this year, we will finish the infrastructure works, to move ahead with the biomedical equipment, as well as the furnishing of the Blood Transfusion Center. I am convinced that this investment will significantly increase the quality of the service throughout the country, because this center coordinates on a national level the supply to meet all blood transfusion needs. But on the other hand, we will be elevated to a higher level in terms of scientific research and increasing the capacities of our human resources,” Manastirliu said during the inspection of the works.

The first part of the investment from the state budget will go to the reconstruction of the building built in 1982, to turn this center into a dignified institution for citizens, but also for health workers. It will increase the donation receiving capacity, improve the conditions and work cycle from registration to receiving answers in real time.
