Vata/ – Religious communities and the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination regarded as totally unacceptable a billboard placed in public spaces in Tirana and featuring the candidate of the Together We Win coalition, Belind Këlliçi doing the middle finger gesture.

The Alliance against Hate Speech found inappropriate content in the electoral banners placed in various  areas across Tirana.

The use of offensive images and gestures that violate human dignity during electoral campaign is unacceptable and punishable under the electoral law,” the Commissioner said.

“The Alliance against Hate Speech hails the most recent decision by the State Election Commissioner to remove the derogatory billboards, urging electoral subjects to exercise restraint and be cautious about the message they convey to the younger generations. Political parties should not quit their educational role for the society,” the statement reads.
