Speaking at a meeting with women and girls in Tirana, Rama shared the story of a DP supporter who had decided to vote for the Socialist Party which solved the biggest trouble of her life by banning gambling and betting.

Rama said that, “a few days ago a woman wrote to me saying she was a right-wing supporter. I have so many problems, one of my children is sick, and if I did not think twice I would vote for the DP. But how come can I vote for the Democratic Party when you saved me from the biggest trouble I had, the money that my husband used to spend in betting, your saved me from the curse that had befallen my home.”

In fact, Rama said, “this is the difference between us and the DP. We are not perfect, of course we cannot get all the things right, but we do not bet on the lives of Albanians. We do not bet on the future of our people. We do not bet on the school of our children.”

We do not take the chances means that we do not gamble on the future, we do not gamble on newborn babies, we do not gamble on children who go to daycare and kindergarten, we do not gamble on those who go to school and learn with decent textbooks, we do not gamble on the lives of those who after graduating from high school should be admitted to University on merit. We do not gamble on the careers of teachers, doctors and nurses. We do not gamble on the work of entrepreneurs. We do not gamble on the elderly.
