In a statement to the media, Berisha said that Hyseni acted in violation of her duties and the law, adding that she collaborated with individuals involved in criminal activities.

“History shows spy chiefs breaking the law for dictators or foreign agencies, but seeing a top intelligence official act in direct support of organized crime is entirely unprecedented,” he said.

According to him, the prosecution has issued an arrest warrant for Vlora Hyseni, deeming her an accomplice in crime.

“Today, prosecutors ordered a house arrest and suspension for Vlora Hyseni, the head of the national intelligence service, suspecting her of aiding criminal networks and leaking classified state secrets in violation of her legal oath,” Berisha said.

He described this as a grave violation of duty.
