TIRANA, Nov 4 /ATA/ The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, stated today that the opposition has informed European Union institutions about what is happening in Albania.

During a press conference, Berisha responded to journalists’ questions regarding the European Commission’s progress report on Albania.

“Before making any assessments, we need to read and review the report. However, my stance is clear: aside from its geostrategic importance, Albania fails to meet any other criteria. We have made every effort to bring EU institutions, especially the Parliament, and representatives of partner countries’ embassies up to speed about developments in Albania,” he stated.
According to Berisha, although the process is difficult for the opposition, “we have succeeded in obtaining four international resolutions that are consistent with the OSCE-ODIHR report.”
“Anyone who goes over the resolutions and the OSCE-ODIHR report will notice a strong similarity between them.” “Nonetheless, there are supporters of the narco-regime, as well as critics who target me for speaking out against the narco-state. Yet, I am revealing a crucial truth that is tearing apart my nation and my country,” he added.

According to Berisha, those who defend it “simply continue down the same corrupt path.”
“We remain patient and continue our information campaign, keeping people informed with the firm belief that these efforts will gradually achieve results,” Berisha said.

During the press conference, he also noted that “the Llogara tunnel was built without a permit, and the official authorization was only issued in May 2025.”
Berisha criticized the prime minister for tearing down a house in Theth over permit issues while constructing a 220-million-euro project without a permit, signing the approval only in May 2025.
