TIRANA, July 3 /ATA/ The Democratic Party chairman Sali Berisha stated that he briefed the OSCE Assembly with what he described as “contradictory facts and evidence related to the May 11 electoral sham,” considering this act as fulfilling his important duty to the Albanian people.

During a press conference, Berisha remarked, “The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and OSCE bodies, including ODIHR, are institutions fully trusted by OSCE member states concerning elections—their nature, conduct, and whether they are fair or unfair, equal or unequal.”

Berisha thanked EPP parliamentary group president Gundrun Kugler for allowing him to present his case on the May 11 electoral farce in Albania.

Berisha stated, “Without drawing comparisons to any other process in Europe, we reported on the involvement of the narco-state—utilizing all its human and financial resources as well as executive authority—in controlling and buying the votes of Albanian citizens. We also denounced the use of half a billion euros and public procurements that flagrantly violate the law.”

Berisha stated, “There are 29 thousand hectares of cannabis nationwide for votes, while the law permits only a total of 200 hectares.”
The leader of the Democratic Party emphasized that “in meetings, we informed them of all the irregularities observed from camera surveillance on voting day and from the recounting of ballot papers.”
“We provided information on the expanded use of the ‘Bulgarian train’ mechanism, highlighting concerns over the state control of the diaspora vote and the voting process itself. Our allegations were based on concrete facts and documented evidence.”
