Addressing a final campaign rally, PM Rama called on voters in three municipalities of Polican, Skrapar and Berat to back the Socialist candidates in May 14 mayoral elections.

“It is with such a great pleasure that we hold this final campaign meeting for the region of Berat in this very brand new square, construction of which has actually been a long-time dream of mine and it is today a huge added value to the city of Berat, that I have been fully confident it will receive half a million of visitors each year,” PM Rama said.

The government head said that this was the first ever election campaign when providing 24-hour water supply is no longer a campaign promise, because this is now a reality in most of the towns and villages in the region of Berat.

He said that agricultural exports from the area have also increased significantly and tourism is growing at a very fast rate.

“We are ready to move to the next stage until Albania becomes a regional champion for tourism, it becomes non-dependant on energy imports, but a net energy exporter instead; it becomes a big exporter of the agricultural products and make Albania a country where people don’t want to leave, but return back home,” he stated.
