During the meeting, Minister Lamallari described the visit as another important step toward strengthening the friendly relations between Albania and Belgium. He emphasized the need to explore new opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Lamallari expressed gratitude for Belgium’s continued support for Albania’s European integration process, recalling that Albania was granted EU candidate status in 2014, during Belgium’s Presidency of the EU Council.

He also thanked Belgium for its technical assistance in the field of justice and underlined the importance of close collaboration to further consolidate the Rule of Law.

Both sides agreed to intensify cooperation and to consider holding regular technical-level meetings to develop new forms of partnership.

Earlier, the two Belgian ministers met with Minister of the Interior Albana Koçiu, who expressed her appreciation for Belgium’s ongoing support and trust in Albania.
