TIRANA, May  12 /ATA/ The DP candidate for the municipality of Tirana in the May 14 local elections, Roland Bejko, on Friday held meetings with the residents of the Fresk area, where he pledged to cut the construction tax from 12% to 5% with the aim of reducing the housing prices.

“Today, due to 1.6 billion euros laundered by organized crime in Albania, the price of housing has gone skyrocketing. None of these young men and women that want to start a family cannot buy a home, because the prices are so high that you need 4-5 lifetimes to buy it.  We will collect the 3% tax on the constructions, in cash and in stock, to provide housing for the young couples, the family heads and the homeless people of Tirana,” said Bejko.

According to him, rural areas will also be a priority.  Bejko pledged the construction of 250 kilometers of rural roads, so that local farmers have easier access to the 5 markets that will be built at the entrance to Tirana. Also, three free economic zones will be created, in Kërrabë, Arbanë and Ndroq.
