In addition to the talks about the collective engagement in finding a way to end the conflict, President Begaj also touched on the developments in the Western Balkans region in these meetings, lobbying for the expansion of international recognition of the Republic of Kosovo, which he called a stability factor in the region.

During the meeting with the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, President Begaj reconfirmed Albania’s support for Moldova’s European integration aspiration.

The Head of State forwarded to Sandu the request for the reconsideration of the decision on the recognition of Kosovo and the support for its membership in international organizations, appreciating the fact that Moldova is contributing troops to the KFOR peacekeeping mission.

Begaj also addressed the issue of Kosovo during the meeting with his Kenyan counterpart, William Ruto, to whom he repeated the request for official recognition, stressing that such a move is in the interests of peace and security.

Albania and Kosovo, – emphasized Begaj, are completely aligned on policy of collective cooperation to avoid conflicts.

The President also held meetings with the counterparts of Kosovo, Montenegro, Slovenia, as well as with leaders of organizations participating in the Summit for Ukraine, including the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.
