According to a statement from the President’s office, President Begaj was briefed and held discussions with the officials on current situation during the meetings.

The meeting comes amid an investigation by the Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPAK) into Vlora Hyseni, the former head of the Albanian State Intelligence Service (SHISH).

At the request of SPAK, the Special Court against Corruption and Organised Crime (GJKKO) ordered Hyseni to be placed under house arrest.

Following these developments, Prime Minister Edi Rama dismissed Hyseni as head of the State Intelligence Service (SHISH), a decision subsequently enforsed by the President.
