TIRANA, Aug 20 /ATA/- Thousands of Albanian and foreign visitors have packed the streets and squares of Korça, Albania’s biggest south-eastern city, known for its serenades and nicknamed the “Little Paris of Albania” as its traditional beer festival is already underway.

Prime Minister Edi Rama took to the social media to share the Korça beer festival vibe on Tuesday evening.

“Korça beer festival nights are magical,” PM Rama wrote, posting images showing local and foreign tourists to the city.

“Thousands of local and foreign tourists visited Korça during this summer festival,” Rama added.

For days now, Korça Municipality has invited local citizens and foreign tourists alike to join the annual event, pledging a fantastic two-scene program featuring live performance by renowned artists, while a wide range of foreign and domestic beer brands are on offer.

The city’s main streets were specially decorated and street signs placed in Albanian and English to guide visitors about the festival sites.

Beer, traditional dishes such as the Kernacka meatballs and the Lakror pie, serenades and music performances will accompany Albanian and foreign visitors holidaying in the country during the five-day event.

The Beer Fest in Korça was first organized back in 2007 in an initiative launched by the Municipality of Korça.
